This proposal for MOD PODS seeks to populate these small, narrow infill sites with modern, micro-modular residential units. Inspired by Gordon Matta-Clark’s Fake Estates that mapped odd lot sizes due to surveying errors in New York’s five boroughs, or Atelier Bow-Wow’s Pet Architecture account of small, almost impossible to build, remnant sites in Tokyo – now thriving as ramen bars, nail salons, and single-person wide convenience stores. In the same spirit of these forlorn spaces, MOD PODS recognize the inherent constraints of infill sites by capitalizing on their unique properties and location.
